The Eastern Europe Department of the Staatsbibliothek is in charge of the Specialised Information Service Slavonic Studies, which is funded by the Deutsche Forschungemeinschaft (DFG) as part of the Specialised Information Services Programme. This also includes the further expansion of the Slawistik-Portal.

By making relevant acquisitions and providing information offers from East European regions, the department supports the Specialised Information Services CrossAsia (FID Asia) as well as the FID International and Interdisciplinary Legal Research.
