ISIL and Sigel are standard identifiers for libraries, archives, museums and related institutions. While ISIL (International Standard Identifier for Libraries and Related Organizations) is an international identifier for these institutions, Sigel has long been the corresponding national level identifier for libraries.The ISIL-Agency at Staatsbibliothek zu Berlin acts as a national registry and provides identifiers to all relevant institutions in Germany.
