Booking a time slot for on site services
Access to the reading rooms is currently by appointment only and with proof of a negative test, full vaccination or recovery. For full access and hygiene rules, please see our Covid-19-FAQ (only in German). Please check the validity of your library card in advance. Renewal is possible online.
Please cancel your registration if you are unable to attend an appointment. Please do not register more than once for a date and cancel double bookings made accidentally!
For a visit at short notice, you can book a time slot that have become available, or contact us directly with an enquiry: +49 30 266 433888 and we will check whether anything is available at the moment.
You do not need an appointment to borrow books outside the library, to return books or to register.

General Reading Room - Haus Unter den Linden
We offer separate morning (8am - 2pm) and evening (3pm - 10pm) dates.
The release takes place daily at 9am for the morning date and 2pm for the afternoon date, in each case two days in advance. On Fridays, the dates for Mondays and Tuesdays are published.

Newspaper Reading Room - Haus Unter den Linden
By booking a time slot, you have access to the Newspaper Reading Room. We offer two types of appointments:
- Workplace in the reading room with reservation of a microfilm device
- Workplace in the reading room without device
Release always takes place on Wednesdays at 10 a.m. for the entire following week.
