The department provides several different services:

• Description, digitization, and access to the outstanding photographers archives and newspaper collections of the Berlin State Library
• Development and support of data science services, including curation, analysis, and visualization of cultural heritage data for research and education
• Services and support for the Union Catalog of Serials (Zeitschriftendatenbank, ZDB), Global Open Knowledgebase (GOKB), German ISIL- and Library Codes Agency (ISIL-Agentur), and KALLIOPE UNION CATALOG (KALLIOPE-Verbund)
