Cataloging of the medieval manuscripts of the Bonn University and State Library (restituted codices)

Project object

From 1 February 2007 to 23 November 2013, the medieval manuscripts of the Bonn University and State Library were catalogued at the Cataloguing Centre of the Staatsbibliothek zu Berlin - Preußischer Kulturbesitz. The 172 preserved manuscripts in 177 volumes are partly described in the form of an abbreviated description according to the model of the Greifswald Manuscript Project (100 manuscripts in 104 volumes), partly in classical depth according to the 'Guidelines for Manuscript Cataloguing' of the German Research Foundation (72 manuscripts in 73 volumes). In addition, 31 medieval manuscripts were included which could no longer be traced in Bonn after the Second World War, as well as inventory descriptions of 106 medieval book fragments. The cataloguing was carried out directly via the MXML processing module of the Manuscripta Mediaevalia manuscript database, where all the catalogues are linked to over 4,800 representative digital selections.
