Digitisation of an image archive of the oldest Koran fragments from Sanaa/Jemen
Project object
In this project, microfilms, color slides and photographic prints of 926 Quran fragments (29,000 images) are being digitized. The original manuscripts are located in Sanaa, Yemen, and were documented and restored there between 1980 and 1997 by the German Yemen Project of the Cultural Preservation Program of the German Foreign Office. The aim is to present the digital copies and metadata in the German Digital Library.
