Cataloging of the medieval manuscripts of the Bonn University and State Library (restituted codices)

Project object

Cataloging and indexing of eleven medieval manuscripts at the Cataloging Center of the Staatsbibliothek zu Berlin - Preußischer Kulturbesitz. the medieval manuscripts of the Bonn University and State Library (restituted codices).

A follow-up to a project carried out from 2007 to 2013, which fortunately resulted from the publication of the printed and illustrated catalog in 2015 by de Gruyter (Berlin). With the help of the descriptions of the apparently lost manuscripts, the identification of eleven codices from Brussels private ownership (S 89, S 296, S 298,1, S 315, S 333, S 386, S 391, S 1682, S 1946, S 1948, S 1952) was achieved at Sotheby's (London) at the end of 2017. Thus, in one fell swoop, more than a third of all Bonn manuscripts, whose whereabouts had been unclear after 1945, came to light again.
